Romans 10:9: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. NIV
Jesus, help me understand why it’s important for me to declare with my mouth that You are Lord? Help me to better understand what it means to believe in my heart as opposed to understanding with my head that God raised you from the dead.
What Jesus said to Patty:
Speaking out loud activates your faith. Speak doubt and you activate doubt. Speak faith and you activate faith. Remember that the enemy can’t hear your thoughts, so speak loud enough for the enemy and others to hear. The greater boldness for which you speak, the more your faith will grow.
I live in the heart and not in the head. The language of the heart is emotions, the flow of the Holy Spirit, pictures, music and Spirit-led pondering. To know ABOUT me has no power to save you. Even the demons know who I AM. But, they do not surrender their hearts to Me. That is what is required; the humble surrender and declaration of belief are necessary for you to be saved.
Thank you, Lord for helping me better understand Romans 10:9.
What the Lord said to Evelyn:
Jesus, help me understand why it’s important for me to declare with my mouth that You are Lord?
My words have power and your spoken words have power because you are made in My image. When you declare out loud that, “Jesus is Lord,” the devil will tremble!
Help me to better understand what it means to believe in my heart as opposed to understanding with my head that God raised you from the dead.
Your heart will influence your passion and your actions. Does your head to the same? Do I speak to your head or your heart? If your heart is far from Me, your heart will not guide you to act upon My words. That’s why I ask you to meditate My words daily so that they can guide your actions. When you believe that I will raise the dead with your heart, then things will happen. It distinguishes you from pre-believers and non-believers because they too can receive the knowledge in their head but not believe.
Thank you, Lord, I believe in you with my heart and not my head because my heart not only influences but also dictates my actions. The Holy Spirit will fill my heart in tune with yours. I have a much better understanding of Romans 10:9 now.
